Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is seeking a Construction Inspector to join our Charleston, West Virginia team.

This role offers hands-on experience across site development and infrastructure projects, with mentorship from seasoned professionals dedicated to your growth. You will perform field testing and inspection of soils, concrete, and asphalt, operate nuclear density gauges, document daily activities, and travel to local job sites using company vehicles.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Experience testing/inspecting soils, concrete, asphalt, aggregates, or similar materials.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate field documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing and inspection of soils, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials to ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Operate field equipment, including nuclear density gauges and other testing tools.
• Document daily field activities, test results, and observations through clear and accurate reporting.
• Review and interpret construction plans and specifications to support inspection activities.
• Communicate regularly with project managers, contractors, and project teams to maintain project quality and progress.
• Maintain and calibrate field equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
• Travel locally to job sites using company-provided vehicles.
