Job summary

HDR is seeking a Construction EIT in the Kansas City area to support on-site civil infrastructure projects, including roads and facilities. You will learn from Resident Engineers and Project Managers, manage RFIs and submittals, and help coordinate project controls throughout the lifecycle.

Responsibilities include reading drawings, tracking progress, preparing daily reports with photos, and assisting with safety plans and QA/QC procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or closely related field.
• Experience using MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong people skills and ability to interact with the design team.

Responsibilities

• Be eager to learn, ask questions, and work under supervision from Resident Engineers, Project Managers, Sr. Construction Inspectors, and Resident Project Representatives.
• Assist the Construction Manager with all facets of project execution.
• Receive, issue and track RFIs, submittals and other required data.
• Support other project and proposal efforts, including estimating, procurement and project controls, and tracking construction submittals.
• Read, understand, and interpret construction drawings.
• Responsible for onsite construction administration on complex small to medium projects or large routine projects.
• Basic technical knowledge of Electrical and M/P systems (HVAC & Plumbing).
• Ensure compliance with safety requirements and inspections.
• Coordinate field staffing and workload through the project life cycle.
• Convey issues to engineers of record for troubleshooting.
• Monitor, record, and inspect progress; compose daily reports with photos.
• Coordinate field materials sampling and testing (concrete, soil testing).
• Establish client relations and participate in site visits and marketing.
• Support Site-Specific Safety Plans.
• Travel to site-based locations as needed; work outdoors in all seasons.
