Job summary

Confidential Employer in Asheville, NC seeks a Construction Manager to lead construction administration for municipal water and civil infrastructure projects. You will supervise field teams, coordinate with clients, engineers, and contractors, and ensure project milestones are met from kickoff to closeout.

Ideal candidates bring a 4+ year track record in municipal utilities and construction management, possess strong plan-reading skills, and hold a relevant bachelor’s degree.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years municipal utility experience with water projects.
• 4+ years construction management or construction administration experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and contract documents.
• Experience with RFIs, submittals, contractor payment applications, project documentation.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction administration activities for municipal utility and civil infrastructure projects from construction startup through closeout.
• Monitor construction work for compliance with project plans, specifications, contracts, schedules, and quality requirements.
• Coordinate communication among clients, contractors, engineers, consultants, and internal project teams.
• Lead and document construction progress meetings and help keep projects moving according to schedule.
• Review and track RFIs, shop drawings, contractor submittals, payment applications, and change order considerations.
• Conduct project site visits and prepare accurate, complete construction observation reports.
• Review construction plans, specifications, quantities, costs, and contract documentation.
• Support constructability reviews, quality control procedures, project documentation, and final closeout activities.
• Manage multiple active construction projects while maintaining strong organization, communication, and follow-through.
