Job summary

Orionplacement seeks a construction professional to lead municipal water and civil infrastructure projects from start to finish. The role is primarily on-site in Asheville, NC, involving field-based construction administration and close collaboration with engineers, contractors, and clients.

The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, with 4+ years of municipal water project experience and construction administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related engineering discipline required.
• 4+ years municipal utility experience with water infrastructure projects required.
• 4+ years of construction management or construction administration experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specs, and contract documents.
• Experience with RFIs, submittals, contractor payment applications, project documentation, and progress tracking.
• Strong organizational, written communication, mathematical and time management skills.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction administration activities for municipal utility and civil infrastructure projects from startup to closeout.
• Monitor construction work for compliance with plans, specs, contracts, schedules and quality requirements.
• Coordinate communication among clients, contractors, engineers, consultants and internal teams.
• Lead and document construction progress meetings to keep projects on schedule.
• Review and track RFIs, shop drawings, submittals, payment applications and change orders.
• Conduct site visits and prepare accurate construction observation reports.
• Review construction plans, specifications, quantities, costs and contract documents.
• Support constructability reviews, quality control, documentation and closeout activities.
• Manage multiple active projects with strong organization, communication and follow-through.

Job description

Pay:

$60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year

Location:

Asheville, NC. This is primarily an on-site and field-based opportunity, with in-person work preferred because of the hands-on nature of construction administration and project site responsibilities.

Note:

Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering, 4+ years of municipal utility experience involving water projects, and 4+ years of construction management or construction administration experience.
