Job summary

IMEG Corporation is seeking a Field Construction Administrator in Austin, TX to provide on-site construction observation and coordinate between contractors, engineers, and the project team. The role emphasizes maintaining site presence, documenting progress, and aligning work with contract documents for data center projects.

Ideal candidates bring at least 1 year of experience (3 preferred) in building design or construction, with an associate degree in Construction Management or Engineering.

IMEG is hiring a Field Construction Administrator in Austin, Texas to provide on-site construction observation and serve as a key point of coordination between contractors, engineers, and the broader project team. This role supports in-office engineering teams by monitoring field conditions, sharing project status updates, and helping keep work aligned with contract documents, with a focus on data center work.

You will maintain daily site presence, document progress and issues, track project communications and revisions, and help address field conflicts as they arise. The role also supports coordination across industrial and manufacturing projects by working closely with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients throughout construction.

What You'll Do
  • Provide on-site presence to represent the owner's interest in the project
  • Perform site observations during construction and provide information to contractors and engineers as requested
  • Keep design engineers informed of project status, potential problems, and liability issues
  • Observe work through meetings and daily site presence to confirm progress and workmanship align with contract documents
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to support project objectives
  • Document meeting minutes and prepare daily reports on construction status, schedule delays, issues, workflow, upcoming work, and inspections
  • Review, clarify, and interpret contract documents, and obtain information from design engineers as needed
  • Issue and track reports regarding project deficiencies
  • Coordinate with the architect and design engineer on construction coordination issues, and record and document events and circumstances
  • Track the latest drawings and confirm contractors are using corrected revisions
  • Track RFI and submittal completion by the design team, and communicate with the design team and field to address critical path items first
  • Assist with resolving construction issues and conflicts, support project closeout documentation, ensure compliance with codes and standards, enforce safety protocols, and prepare reports and progress summaries for senior management and clients

Required
Education and Experience
  • 1 year of experience minimum required, 3 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry; Field experience or skilled trades a plus
  • Associates degree, or certificate, in Construction Management or Engineering preferred. 4 years of experience minimum required, 6 preferred, in the construction industry that directly relates to this job description; Field experience or skilled trades a plus
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to travel 100% and work onsite at assigned project locations, including extended overnight and long-term stays. Employees will be assigned to a project site and are expected to live and work in the project area until their next project assignment
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to think critically and adapt to changing circumstances
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities, with a keen attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely to individuals or groups
  • Must be familiar with design processes and interpretation of architectural and engineering design documents including but not limited to structural, mechanical, civil, and electrical
  • Knowledge of design and construction principles, technical drawings, construction methods, materials, and safety regulations applicable to building and infrastructure projects
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Valid driver's license required. Must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background check and travel to construction sites as necessary to support project and business operations
  • Ability to acquire a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Card within 90 days of employment
  • Complete Miner Safety Health Administration (MSHA) training within 30-days of employment
Preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree (Science) preferred in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent
  • Field experience or skilled trades a plus
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools preferred
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds
  • Required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pull
  • Will have exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

State of Colorado Salary Range: $38-45/hour

The range listed above represents the base pay IMEG reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position in the work location identified above at the time of posting. For positions available in multiple locations, the minimums and maximums may vary based on work location.

Individual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including the candidate's experience, education, knowledge, skills, abilities, and licensure and certifications.
