Job summary

Martin Painting & Coating Co. is seeking an Industrial Coating Quality Technician to support quality on commercial and industrial painting and coating projects. This field-based role requires attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality on every project.

You will assist with inspections, check surfaces before coating, and monitor coating workmanship. The position involves documenting observations, communicating concerns to supervisors, and maintaining organized jobsite records.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial painting, commercial painting, coatings, construction, or quality control preferred.
• Knowledge of surface preparation and coating application is beneficial.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable working in commercial and industrial environments.
• Comfortable working at heights when required.
• Ability to use a smartphone for communication and documentation.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to work at least two weekends per month.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inspections during surface preparation and coating activities.
• Check prepared surfaces before coating application.
• Monitor coating application for consistency and workmanship.
• Assist with coating thickness measurements when required.
• Document observations and quality information.
• Identify areas that may require correction or additional work.
• Communicate quality concerns to supervisors.
• Help verify that work follows project requirements.
• Maintain accurate project documentation.
• Support field crews with quality-related requirements.
• Help maintain organized jobsite conditions.
• Follow company safety procedures and jobsite requirements.
