Job summary

ECS Limited is seeking a CMT Assistant Staff Professional to join our Frederick team for field-based construction materials testing exposure and project support. This role builds foundational experience in observation, testing, and project workflows while reinforcing ECS Core Values.

Under guidance from senior staff, you will learn soil classification, testing methods, and collaborate with contractors, technicians, and project teams on site.

Qualifications

• 4 years of experience in construction materials testing (field or lab) or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Obtain certifications applicable to field work per ECS policy
• If driving for ECS, a valid driver’s license is required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in teams and independently
• Basic understanding of construction materials testing principles (developing)
• Interest in project management and consulting environments
• Ability to document and communicate field observations clearly

Responsibilities

• Assists with field tasks supporting construction materials testing projects
• Performs observation and testing activities with guidance from senior staff
• Documents site conditions and testing results in daily field reports
• Communicates changes in site conditions or testing needs to project staff
• Interacts with contractors, technicians, and project team members on sites
• Participates in project meetings with senior staff as requested
• Learns soil classification and testing methods
• Performs testing on soils, aggregates, foundations, concrete, masonry, steel, asphalt, and fireproofing with limited supervision
• Assists with preparation of calculations, reports, and project documentation
• Supports project lifecycle activities with limited office work as experience develops
• Performs other field and project support duties as assigned
