Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Civil Superintendent for the Water Facilities South district to lead field activities on water treatment and related projects. The role focuses on executing construction work, developing work plans, shop drawings, submittals, and 5-week schedules while traveling to project sites across the region.

You will supervise craft workers, coordinate with engineers, and ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience overseeing self-performed concrete work in heavy civil construction.
• Advanced knowledge of construction disciplines, union agreements, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, and engineering drawings.
• Ability to supervise and evaluate craft performance.
• Strong work ethic, integrity, and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervisory direction of craft workers through the foreman, managing productivity, safety, quality and schedule adherence.
• Liaison between field engineering and craft to ensure compliance of construction drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate and interface with other superintendents, subcontractors, and Kiewit staff to ensure smooth workflow and schedule adherence.
• Resolve employee conflicts, grievances, and scheduling difficulties, informing project management as appropriate.
• Assist in schedule planning, determining craft labor levels, material quantities, and equipment requirements.
• Ensure project rules, procedures and programs are followed, including safety, attendance, and workplace behavior policies.
