Job summary

Seneca Nation Health System is seeking an entry-level Engineering Technician to support senior engineers in planning, coordinating, and documenting construction and infrastructure projects across SNHS facilities.

You will help ensure compliance with healthcare standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements while coordinating with clinical and government stakeholders to minimize disruptions. Strong observation and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Foundational knowledge of civil and building construction, site development, and engineering drafting principles.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural/civil plans and schematic diagrams.
• Working knowledge of construction safety practices and infection control requirements in healthcare.
• Strong observation, technical documentation, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with computers and willingness to learn CAD/BIM and project-tracking software.
• Effective communication skills with diverse stakeholders (clinical, contractors, government).
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in active construction environments without close supervision.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to track multiple tasks with frequent deadline changes.

Responsibilities

• Assists in coordination of construction and infrastructure projects under direction of the Senior Civil Engineer.
• Monitors on-site construction progress, documents conformance to plans, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Supports planning and communication with clinical and governmental stakeholders to minimise operational impacts during construction.
• Reviews and interprets drawings, project specifications, utility layouts, and technical submittals.
• Helps track project schedules, milestones, contractor compliance, and delivery of materials and equipment.
• Maintains documentation including daily logs, RFIs, submittals, punch lists, commissioning items, and as-built record updates.
