Job summary

American Engineering Testing Inc is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern in Saint Paul, MN. You will assist engineers and technicians with field observations, concrete, soils, and other materials testing, gaining hands-on experience that complements classroom learning.

You will work under mentorship, participate in real projects, and develop practical skills in testing methods and site observations while exploring cross-disciplinary engineering teams at an employee-owned firm.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pursuing a Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related degree.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to frequently lift and carry 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist in testing procedures and field observations for materials testing.
• Conduct field testing and observations of construction materials (concrete, soils, aggregate, masonry, asphalt, reinforcing steel).
• Communicate with project managers, clients, and contractors at work sites.
• Additional miscellaneous assignments as needed.
