Job summary

UES is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to join our Lexington team. This hands‑on, field‑based role supports structural steel and infrastructure projects across Kentucky and the surrounding region.

You will verify quality and safety of welded structures, review drawings, and maintain accurate inspection records while collaborating with contractors and project teams in dynamic environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with welding certificate program or vocational training.
• AWS or similar welding certification preferred.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record and basic computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Performing welding inspections at construction sites, fabrication facilities, and infrastructure projects.
• Reviewing engineering drawings and project requirements for welding work.
• Verifying compliance with AWS codes and industry standards.
• Preparing accurate inspection reports and documentation.
• Collaborating with contractors, engineers, and project managers to address quality concerns.
• Conducting visual inspections of structural steel and welded assemblies.
