Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Office of Child Development and Early Learning is seeking an Early Learning Program Certification Representative to strengthen child care quality across the Western Region. You will visit facilities, guide operators, and verify regulatory compliance to keep children safe and healthy.

This role conducts facility inspections, provides technical guidance, prepares certification documents, and collaborates with other agencies.

Qualifications

• Two years of professional experience providing direct services to children and youth and a bachelor’s degree that includes 24 semester hours of college level courses in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, psychology, or human development; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Public Guidance: Respond to inquiries, provide technical assistance, and offer orientation information to operators.
• Facility Inspection: Investigate provider compliance for applications, inspections, monitoring visits, and complaints.
• Certification Follow-Up: Complete reports, determine compliance, and prepare documents for certification actions.
• Interagency Collaboration: Participate in initiatives, review drafts, and represent regulatory positions in meetings.
• Program Support: Use electronic systems, prepare documents, and update provider information in required databases.
