Job summary

Eurofins USA BioPharma Services in San Jose, CA seeks a Field Service Engineer I/II – Calibration Technician to perform calibrations, preventive maintenance and repairs on pipettes and small laboratory instruments, both onsite and at customer sites.

The role requires a related science degree and up to 3 years experience, ability to travel up to five days a week, valid driver's license, and strong troubleshooting and communication skills. Full-time first shift, not remote; competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Two- or four-year degree in a related science field plus 0-3 years experience in field service.
• Ability to work in the US without sponsorship.
• Physical ability to lift and transport equipment.
• Clear, respectful, and timely verbal and written communication.
• Experience with technical troubleshooting and problem solving.
• Must be self-motivated and proactive.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to travel within customer territory up to 5 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Perform calibration/qualification and preventative maintenance in the lab on single channel and multi-channel pipettes.
• Travel to customer sites to perform pipette calibrations and PMs as necessary.
• Perform troubleshooting and repair of various types of small laboratory equipment both in the field and in the lab.
• Manage personal parts inventory effectively.
• Provide feedback to Manager regarding any issue impacting service delivery, particularly issues impacting turnaround times.
• Complete administrative paperwork and reports promptly and accurately.
• Follow GDP and SOPs as applicable to daily activities.
