SKA Consulting Engineers, Inc. in Charlotte, NC is seeking a CAD drafting-focused field inspector to join our team. You will perform field testing, inspections, and documentation, translating observations into accurate drawings.

This role combines fieldwork with office drafting using AutoCAD and Bluebeam, supporting engineers on diverse projects. The position offers a hybrid work environment with growth opportunities and mentor-ship in a collaborative engineering setting, plus occasional

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree preferred in Architectural Tech, CET, or Construction Management.
• At least one year of CAD drafting experience.
• 1–2 years of construction, roofing, testing or inspection field experience preferred.
• Basic construction practices, terminology, tools, materials, regs, and codes understood.

What You’ll Do

Requirements

We’re looking for someone who is curious, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in both an office and field environment. You should enjoy learning how buildings are constructed, investigating problems, and turning field information into accurate technical drawings.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or other two-year technical degree in Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
• At least one year of CAD drafting experience.
• One to two years of construction, roofing, testing, inspection, or related field experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of construction practices, terminology, tools, materials, regulations, and codes.
• Building envelope experience or knowledge is a plus.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam is a plus.

Equivalent combinations of education, training, certifications, and relevant experience will also be considered.
