Job summary

Certerra is seeking a Building Inspector in Charleston, SC to perform technical inspections of commercial and industrial construction, focusing on building and structural components and licensed mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems where required.

The role requires traveling to job sites across the southeast, coordinating with contractors, engineers, and clients, and maintaining accurate inspection records and reports.

Qualifications

• SC Standard Building Inspector license required.
• Valid SC driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass required background screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform building and structural inspections on commercial and industrial projects, including new, repaired, remodeled, or expanded structures.
• Inspect foundations, concrete slabs, framing, roofing, and related activities to verify compliance with codes and plans.
• Review plans, blueprints, and specifications for issues and communicate recommendations to stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and prepare clear, timely reports.
• Travel to job sites and coordinate with contractors, engineers, architects, and clients.
• Ensure compliance with inspection specifications, codes, and company procedures.
