Job summary

Tulsa County is seeking a Building Inspector to perform on-site structural, mechanical, and plumbing inspections under general direction. The role ensures compliance with adopted building and zoning codes, and supports permit issuance and enforcement activities.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma with extensive construction experience or an associate degree in a related field, plus a valid Oklahoma driver's license and appropriate inspector licenses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 10 years of experience in building, plumbing, or construction.
• An associate degree in business or related field may substitute one or more years of experience.
• Valid Oklahoma Driver’s License for at least 6 months.
• Current Oklahoma Construction Industries Board Inspector License (or provisional).

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site structural, mechanical, and plumbing inspections.
• Inspect footings, foundations, framing, and completion for code compliance.
• Issue building permits in coordination with office staff.
• Investigate zoning violations and assist in prosecutions.
• Interpret International Codes and blueprints.
