Ahtna, Incorporated is seeking an Unlicensed Boatman to operate and maintain small vessels for transportation and support across project sites in Florida and the Southeast. You will navigate waterways, assist with docking and mooring, and perform routine vessel maintenance to ensure safety and readiness.

The role requires at least a High School Diploma or GED and three years of Boatman experience, with the ability to pass pre-employment drug, alcohol tests and background checks.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Three (3) years of experience as a Boatman.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol test and background check.

Mansioni

• Safely operate and navigate small boats used for transporting personnel, equipment, and materials.
• Deploy, retrieve, and secure anchors as needed for vessel positioning or mooring operations.
• Assist in loading, unloading, and positioning pipe sections on vessels or at job sites.
• Provide logistical support for marine construction, dredging, or oil spill response activities.
• Assist with docking procedures, securing vessels, and managing lines.
• Perform basic cleaning, fueling, and mechanical checks to ensure vessel readiness.
• Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Know and understand all safety requirements regarding maritime operations.
• Wear and maintain PPE on HAZWOPER sites as required.
• Monitor job site hazards and maintain a safe working environment.
• Maintain logs related to vessel operations and maintenance activities.
• Communicate effectively and take direction from environmental staff in field operations.
• Follow safety regulations and address potential hazards and obstructions.
