Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) seeks an Employee in Charge (EIC) in Sioux City, IA to provide essential on-track safety services for freight railroads and rail industry partners.

The role requires coordinating train movements, conducting thorough job briefings, and enforcing policies while traveling 50–85% of the time. A high school diploma and 2+ years in railroad work are required along with a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a railroad company, preferably in maintenance of way.
• Ability to complete Federal, Client, and/or Company Specific Training.
• Valid Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Provide On-Track Safety: set up derails, track signs, and safety tools.
• Prepare daily field reports and report rule violations.
• Provide job-site coordination.
• Radio contact with Dispatchers and Train Crews to communicate safety status.
• Conduct mandatory job briefings with crew before entry to the track.
• Enforce Railroad, State, and Federal policies.
