Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Medical Science Liaison in the Inflammation space for the Southern California and West/Central Arizona regions. This field-based role requires extensive travel to engage with Opinion Leaders and healthcare providers, delivering balanced scientific data and supporting Amgen's disease area programs.

The MSL will coordinate with Medical Leadership, execute strategy communications, and contribute to research collaboration efforts while ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Doctorate or Masters with Medical Affairs experience, or Bachelors with medical affairs experience.
• Preferred qualifications include Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D. or D.O. and 1+ years Medical Affairs experience.
• Experience in Scientific Affairs or Medical Affairs at biotech/pharma is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Engage with Opinion Leaders, community healthcare providers, and Population Health Decision Makers to discuss and advance scientific platforms.
• Travel 60–70% for territory management and attendance at national/regional conferences.
• Support and lead congress activities and provide speaker training when required.
• Maintain and share clinical/scientific data with internal stakeholders to inform Amgen strategies.
• Execute administrative tasks (CRM, expense reports, compliance modules) in a timely manner.

Doctorate degree

Masters degree & 3 years of Medical Affairs experience

Bachelors degree & 5 years of Medical Affairs experience
