Job summary

BURNCO Rock Products Ltd is seeking an Equipment Operator to join the Colorado Aggregates team in Golden, CO. You will lead daily mining activities, operate excavators, dozers, loaders, and perform routine maintenance to ensure safe, efficient operations.

The role requires 3–5 years’ experience with heavy equipment, a high school diploma or GED, and a strong safety mindset. The position is full-time, field-based, with 12-hour shifts and some weekend work. Travel to sites may occur.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience operating heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, blades, and front-end loaders.
• Background in the aggregate or mining industry is a strong asset.
• History of working with power tools, welders, cutting torches, chains, and necessary safety devices.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in small teams with a self-motivated, productive attitude.
• Basic mechanical and math skills, plus the ability to conduct minor repairs and routine equipment maintenance.
• Comfortable with 12-hour shifts and weekend work as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mining team to meet operational goals.
• Safely load aggregate materials onto haul trucks.
• Perform dirt moving and stripping tasks as needed.
• Conduct routine inspections, fueling, greasing, and fluid refills on equipment.
• Complete minor maintenance and promptly report any safety or mechanical issues.
• Use hand tools and operate equipment to meet daily operational needs.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment through regular housekeeping and maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve daily production priorities.
