Job summary

IQ Fiber is seeking a Construction Coordinator to manage residential and commercial fiber projects from start to finish. The role covers field surveys, permitting, BOM development, NTP packages, subcontractor oversight, quality control, and as-built verification.

This hands-on, field-based position requires strong coordination across teams, proactive problem solving, and the ability to protect timelines and budgets in a 24/7 operation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of telecommunications construction experience.
• Experience with walk-out surveys, design, budgeting, and BOM creation including GPON.
• Experience managing contractor relationships and coordinating multi-site construction projects.
• Certifications and training such as NCTI, SCTE, or BCT/E preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; ability to learn new applications including Vetro.

Responsibilities

• Own construction projects end-to-end from survey through closeout.
• Conduct field surveys for aerial and underground installations; design routes and entry points.
• Obtain permits and easements prior to work start.
• Create Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manage material orders with contractors.
• Prepare and issue Notice-to-Proceed (NTP) packages for contractors and approve final billing.
• Perform field verification to ensure work meets design specs and safety standards.
• Troubleshoot on-site issues and take corrective actions to protect timelines and costs.
• Modify designs to reflect as-built conditions and feed to documentation team.
• Submit regular progress reports to all stakeholders and ensure proper documentation.
• Coordinate with customers, internal teams, and external departments for planning and budgeting.
