Job summary

National OnDemand, Inc. is seeking a skilled field technician to operate directional drills and install UG plant facilities across project sites in the United States.

You will set up equipment, perform potholing, and read network prints while staying compliant with OSHA safety requirements. The role requires in-field work outdoors in varying weather, travel up to 14 days, a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass DOT and MVR screenings.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating directional drills is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Combination of technical training and/or relevant experience.
• Previous construction experience preferred.
• Must meet the physical requirements of the position.
• Flexibility to work nights and weekends, if necessary.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Must pass drug, background, DOT, and MVR screenings.

Responsibilities

• Operate directional drills, mini-excavators, and other equipment to install UG plant facilities.
• Set up job equipment and reel trailers proficiently.
• Perform utility exposes (potholing) and understand the utility locate process.
• Locate other utilities as needed and maintain clearances from other utilities, ground, road, highway, sidewalk, and non-pedestrian areas.
• Transport, handle, and place conduits (rolled and stick) in a proper manner.
• Properly transport and install fiber reels.
• Install fiber cables in conduits following proper procedures.
• Set and secure pedestals and vaults accurately.
• Read and interpret network prints.
• Adhere to OSHA safety requirements to ensure safe and efficient completion of the job(s).
• Maintain regular phone communication throughout the workday.
• Follow directions provided by the crew leader.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
