Job summary

Haley & Aldrich invites motivated students to join as an Intern, Environmental Scientist, Environmental Engineer, or Geologist for about 3 months starting Spring 2027. The position is full-time and located in Princeton, NJ or Holicong, PA, offering hands-on field experience with project teams.

You will support field activities such as construction observation, soil/groundwater sampling, and geotechnical testing, while developing skills under engineers and project managers.

Qualifications

• Candidate should be at least 2 years into their academic career.
• Candidate should be enrolled in an environmental engineering, environmental science, geology, or geoscience educational program (undergraduate or graduate).
• Demonstrate initiative and a willingness to learn.
• Be a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.
• Computer Skills – Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in all MS Office software.
• Valid driver’s license highly preferred.
• Ability to work for 3 consecutive months on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Serve in a field support role, working on interesting and technically challenging construction projects. Field activities may include construction observation, sampling of soil or groundwater, in-situ density testing, and observation of earthwork and foundation construction activities.
• Express a willingness to visit construction sites to assist in the field with our construction monitoring service group.
• Assist engineers and Project Managers with the planning and execution of site characterization, subsurface investigation, and construction of various infrastructure and real estate development projects.
• Assist with evaluation of subsurface geotechnical and environmental data.
• Assist in performing geotechnical design/analysis and developing geotechnical recommendations.
• Assist the laboratory manager in running geotechnical testing on soil samples.
• Complete a presentation at the end of the internship period.
• Other duties as assigned
