Job summary

The Colonial Group seeks a 1099-Contract Investigator to perform federal background investigations on a contract basis in support of national security and suitability efforts. You will conduct fieldwork, including interviews and records retrieval, to produce reports that comply with applicable laws and federal standards.

Expect travel within the geographic area, with opportunities for TDY assignments outside the area.

Qualifications

• Experience conducting fieldwork and producing reports
• Ability to interview and retrieve records within regulatory standards
• Strong written and verbal communication in time-sensitive environments
• Maintain data handling, destruction, and record-keeping according to standards
• Develop professional relationships with ADC employees and contractors

Responsibilities

• Conduct fieldwork including interviews and records collection
• Produce ROIs compliant with laws and standards
• Accept TDY field assignments across geographic area
• Meet investigative deadlines as assigned
• Maintain and destroy data per training and credential requirements
• Report trends observed in the field and stay compliant with training
