Job summary

ERM is seeking a Construction Safety Specialist (Field Based) for a biotech/Data Center project in New Florence/St. Louis, Missouri. The role focuses on establishing, implementing, and improving safety programs at the site, coordinating safety analyses, and leading investigations as needed.

The position is full-time (40 hours/week) for 12 months with potential extension. Strong experience in construction safety and collaboration with subcontractors is required.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, engineering, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in H&S in the construction industry, data center construction preferred.
• CHST/CSP certification is a plus.
• Proficient with management of high-risk activities including electrical safety, excavation, fall protection, material handling, and crane operations.
• Experience communicating with subcontractors as a team; problem-solving.
• Experience with various trades (electricians, ironworkers, pipefitters, etc.) is a plus.
• Knowledge of multi-employer worksites and safety audits.

Responsibilities

• Champion a strong safety culture on site and maximize personnel involvement in safety activities.
• Provide timely, high-quality safety technical support.
• Carry out regular workplace inspections to monitor compliance with site rules and procedures.
• Coordinate job safety analyses, risk assessments, and pre-task plans.
• Prepare and submit local, state, and internal safety reports.
• Review investigations of injuries and near-misses to identify root causes and lead investigations.
• Develop and test local business continuity, emergency response, and crisis management plans.
