Job summary

Peraton in Springfield, MO is seeking a full-time background investigator to join our team. The role requires completion of a 6–7 week training and the ability to obtain a Top Secret eligible clearance, with daily local travel for investigations.

You will conduct face-to-face interviews, perform records searches, and report findings in government systems while working both independently and as part of a field team under a Field Manager.

Qualifications

• 4 years general work experience or a bachelor’s degree.
• Must obtain and maintain a TS clearance; active TS with T5 preferred.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Ability to travel locally and TDY as needed.

Responsibilities

• Successfully complete a full time, 6-7 week training to be certified in Federal Investigative Standards.
• Travel daily when conducting in person background investigations.
• Schedule and conduct face-to-face interviews with subjects and associates.
• Perform record searches at police, court, education and health facilities.
• Type and report information in a government computer system clearly and concisely.
• Work independently while being part of a team under a Field Manager.
