Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of specialized Federal Background investigative experience within the last 5 years.
• Must have some FIS Experience.
• Reliable personal vehicle, valid driver's license, and satisfactory driving record.
• Willing to travel on temporary duty assignments as needed (by car or plane).
• Successfully pass background checks and all required training.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in oral, written, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret journals, procedures, or regulations.
• Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
• Proficiency with MS Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet and Email.
• Current SSBI or active Secret clearance based on an SSBI and able to obtain clearance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-person, one-on-one subject interviews to obtain factual information about background and character.
• Obtain factual information from various sources to produce a comprehensive report.
• Travel to conduct investigations at various locations and facilities as cases are assigned.
• Be willing to travel 30-50 miles as needed.
• Engage with managers and government representatives to maintain relationships.
• Adapt to changing situations and diverse environments.
• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication.
• Manage workload based on case availability.
• Some voluntary TD assignments in other areas may occur.
• Perform other duties as required.
