Job summary

Airswift is seeking a Field Operator III - Automation Technician for a 12-month assignment in Carlsbad, NM. The role centers on automation, instrumentation, SCADA monitoring, and field-based maintenance activities in an oil and gas setting.

Candidates should be comfortable outdoors, safety-conscious, and capable of working with PLCs, transmitters, and communication systems in a technically demanding environment. Nights, weekends, and holidays may be required as part of call-out duties.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting oil and gas production equipment and operations.
• Experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing PLCs, ABB TotalFlow systems, Fisher ROCs, transmitters, and related automation and I&E equipment.
• Experience monitoring operations through SCADA systems in a field environment.
• Experience working with minimal supervision while contributing effectively within a team-based operational setting.
• Experience supporting call-out or operational response activities, including nights, weekends, holidays, and late working when required.

Responsibilities

• Support oil and gas field operations with automation, instrumentation, and SCADA monitoring.
• Maintain PLC, transmitters, and related I&E equipment in a field environment.
• Troubleshoot electrical circuits and communication systems on-site.
• Participate in on-call or after-hours troubleshooting as needed.
