Job summary

ExxonMobil is seeking an Automation Technician to install, repair and maintain instrumentation and automation systems for Oil and Gas operations. You will be part of a team, with on-call duties and a Monday–Friday schedule, including weekends as needed.

The role requires PLC ladder logic knowledge, Rosemount RTU experience, and strong troubleshooting and communication skills, plus the ability to work in varied outdoor conditions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as IC&E or Automation Technician or an associate’s degree in Instrumentation, Controls or Electrical Systems.
• Understanding of oil field delivery systems from Well Pad to Tank Battery to Central Delivery.
• Proficient with PLC ladder logic (Modicon and Allen-Bradley a plus).
• Experience with Rosemount 107 and 800 RTUs.
• Experience with transmitters; Hart protocol a plus.
• Knowledge of control valves and positioners.
• Knowledge of control loops.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot field and Station Instrumentation.
• Troubleshoot Control and Electrical systems (RTUs, transmitters, control wiring).
• Troubleshoot control networks for Well Pads & Tank Battery (HART, ModBus, Ethernet I/P, Network Switches, Fiber optics, Cellular).
• Work safely around instrumentation and electrical systems.
• Work 5 days a week Mon-Fri with on-call responsibilities including weekends.
