ConocoPhillips is seeking an Automation Technician in Loving, NM to maintain and troubleshoot field automation, instrumentation, and SCADA systems, ensuring reliable operations and safety compliance. You will work with operations, engineering, vendors, and contractors to implement improvements and resolve issues.
The role offers hands-on experience with evolving automation technologies, opportunities for growth within a collaborative team, and requires rotating on‑call weekend responsibilities
Qualifications
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Current/valid driver's license.
- 3+ years of experience in automation, instrumentation, controls, SCADA support, or related field operations.
- Working knowledge of maintaining and troubleshooting field automation and instrumentation equipment.
- Able to perform the physical demands and work environment requirements of the position.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and troubleshoot automation, instrumentation, and SCADA systems in the field.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, vendors, and contractors to resolve issues and support new installations.
- Reduce repeat failures and improve reliability and safety performance.
- Create, update, and close maintenance work orders and notifications in the CMMS.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, including prints and project records.
- Support PLC installation, troubleshooting, and programming updates.
- Assist with commissioning of new equipment and facilities, including loop checks and SCADA verification.
