Job summary

Eversource Energy in the New England region is seeking an entry level Field Automation Technician to install, commission, troubleshoot and maintain SCADA hardware and RTUs as part of the electric grid. You will work independently or with a team on equipment installation and configuration.

The role requires ability to read schematics, perform tests with meters and scopes, and maintain CIP certifications. Candidates must have an associate degree in engineering tech and be available for on-call and

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in electrical engineering, electrical technology, or equivalent.
• 0 to 3+ years related experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Knowledge of electrical/electronic components and testing techniques.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of CIP regulations and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, repairs, services equipment and systems related to electrical/electronic equipment.
• Reads and interprets engineering drawings, schematics, wiring, and interconnection diagrams.
• Updates reports, drawings, logs, and records; reflects field changes in drawings.
• Obtains clearance from dispatch to work on critical operating equipment.
• Operates instruments to test and calibrate equipment (multimeters, scopes, meters, etc).
• Identifies and analyzes communications problems and coordinates with carriers; returns equipment to service after repair.
