Talent Edge Recruiting client seeks an Automation Engineer to lead automation and process-control projects from design through startup. This hands-on role requires understanding of controls programming and manufacturing processes, plus strong customer-facing communication.

The candidate will manage multiple projects, travel nationwide about 50%, and work in a largely autonomous environment with direct access to leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• 7–10+ years of controls or automation experience; 10+ years preferred for senior hire.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage multiple automation projects at various development stages.
• Design, program and support process-control systems in food and beverage environments.
• Develop electrical panel designs and support automation system architecture.
• Troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation and pneumatic issues in live manufacturing.
• Serve as primary technical resource during onsite installations and startup.
• Collaborate with operators, maintenance, engineering teams and stakeholders.
• Travel ~50% across the United States, with occasional extended onsite assignments.
