Job summary

Foundation for Affordable Housing in Bend, OR seeks an Associate Asset Manager to support oversight of a large affordable housing portfolio, conducting site inspections, documenting conditions, and coordinating with property managers and ownership partners.

This role requires strong organization, attention to detail, travel frequently, and ability to produce clear reports. You will collaborate with Asset Managers, lenders, and internal teams to ensure properties are well maintained and compliant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in real estate, finance, business, accounting, construction, property management, or a related field preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in real estate, affordable housing, property management, or a related field preferred; experience in affordable housing helpful but not required.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage a high volume of properties, reports, deadlines, and follow-up items.
• Ability to assess property conditions objectively, identify concerns, exercise sound judgment, and determine escalation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site visits across a portfolio of more than 200 affordable housing communities; inspect exteriors, grounds, common areas, and vacant/occupied units.
• Evaluate property condition, maintenance practices, capital needs, life-safety concerns, and risks; document findings with photos and records.
• Meet with property management to discuss operations and issues; prepare clear inspection reports and track follow-up to resolution.
• Coordinate with managers, partners, lenders, and internal teams to collect financial, operational, and compliance information.
