Job summary

National Grid Electricity Distribution seeks an Operator - Asset Inspector based at the Worcester depot. You will inspect our distribution network assets up to 132kV and other assets with statutory inspection regimes, working in the field away from the depot.

You will use inspection systems to identify, record and prioritise activities, travelling to sites across the area to assess condition and ensure compliance with standards.

Qualifications

• Experience working outdoors and in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent customer service and professional conduct when engaging with customers, contractors and the public.
• Strong commitment to safety and ability to escalate concerns as needed.
• Ability to prioritise and manage workload to meet targets.
• Willingness to travel across the area and operate away from the depot.

Responsibilities

• Inspect National Grid's distribution assets up to 132kV and other statutory assets.
• Travel to sites across the area to perform inspections and assess asset condition.
• Record inspection results accurately using handheld devices or company systems.
• Escalate safety concerns or dangerous conditions to the Operations Manager.
• Work independently, stay flexible to changing priorities, and meet performance targets.
