Job summary

Brockington and Associates, Inc. seeks field technicians based in our Savannah, GA office for archaeology project work across the United States. This is a full-time, temporary position with base wages of $17.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, plus project-based pay.

PTO accrues for worked hours. Minimum education is a BA/BS in archaeology, anthropology, history, or historic preservation, and at least six weeks of fieldwork under supervision meeting Secretary of Interior qualifications or

Qualifications

• BA/BS in archaeology, anthropology, history, or historic preservation.
• At least six weeks total of fieldwork as part of a university field school or project.
• Experience with shovel testing or unit excavations, artifact identification, note-taking, soil observations, field photography, and GPS usage.

Responsibilities

• Conduct shovel testing and/or unit excavations.
• Identify basic artifacts.
• Take notes and record soil/observations.
• Perform field photography and use handheld GPS devices.
• Carry out general tasks under supervision.
