Job summary

Stantec is seeking Archaeological Field Technicians to support fieldwork across the Southeast with assignments in the Nashville area and Mobile, AL. You will assist with surveys, testing, and data recovery, handling artifacts and supporting field operations.

The role may include laboratory tasks and travel; candidates should have completed an archaeology field school, a BA/BS in anthropology/archaeology, and field experience with survey and excavation.

Qualifications

• Experience with inventory, survey, testing, and data recovery.
• Experience with mapping equipment (GPS/total station).
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• MS Office Word and Excel proficiency.
• Detail oriented; resourceful; self-motivated; proactive.
• Positive and energetic attitude.

Responsibilities

• Perform archaeological fieldwork tasks including surface survey and shovel test survey.
• Assist excavation and data recovery activities.
• Clean, catalog, photograph, and label artifacts.
• Collaborate with team; follow safety protocols.
