LJA 2025 in Knoxville, TN, seeks Field Technicians for archaeological field projects across Tennessee and nearby states. This role is largely field-based, with possible office or lab tasks to support data processing. You collaborate with field supervisors and travel to project sites.

Qualifications

• Degree in Archaeology/Anthropology or closely related field.
• Completion of an archaeological field school.
• Minimum 6 months of field experience in applicable regions.
• Ability to recognize prehistoric/historic artifacts and features.
• Valid driver’s license for field travel.

Responsibilities

• Conduct archaeological field projects and surveys with field supervisors.
• Travel within TX and surrounding states for fieldwork.
• Record artifacts, soils, GPS data, and map sites.
• Assist with post-field data processing and report figures.
