Job summary

ERM is hiring Archaeological Field Technicians to participate in on-site cultural resource mitigation during construction projects in Northern Nevada and Southern Idaho.

The role involves working with crew chiefs, PI, and cultural resources teams to document and evaluate materials, follow excavation protocols, and ensure compliance with permits, safety, and ERM standards in rugged field environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Archaeology/Anthropology.
• Minimum 2 years field technician experience in Great Basin archaeology.
• Experience with infrastructure-project mitigation.
• Familiarity with Section 106, NHPA and NV/ID permitting.
• Identify prehistoric and historic-period materials.
• Experience using GPS, Survey123, ArcGIS or similar tools.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Able to work safely in active construction environments.

Responsibilities

• Identify, document, and evaluate archaeological materials with Crew Chief or PI.
• Follow cultural leadership on excavation techniques and recordation.
• Maintain compliance with permit conditions and environmental commitments.
• Complete daily field notes.
• Collect GPS data as instructed.
• Other duties as assigned; comply with ERM safety program.
