Job summary

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is seeking Field Archaeologists to join our Naperville, IL office on a flexible, as-needed basis. You will work on Phase I surveys, Phase II evaluations, and Phase III mitigation projects.

The role offers travel across the US, a collaborative team environment, and exposure to regulatory compliance under NHPA. You will gain hands-on field experience and learn GPS/data collection skills in a supportive setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a closely related field.
• Ability to speak and write professionally.
• Previous archaeology experience, including internship or field school is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with archaeological field methods, GPS devices, data collector/total station, and GIS.

Responsibilities

• Work on Phase I surveys, Phase II evaluations, and Phase III mitigation projects.
• Travel to multiple US regions as needed.
• Support regulatory compliance under NHPA.
