Position Overview

As a Field Archaeologist – Flex Force for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you will work in the Indianapolis, IN office on Phase I, Phase II, and Phase III archaeological projects, traveling to several U.S. regions. Typical field work lasts 1–7 days, with larger projects 20–30 days.

Responsibilities

• Conduct phase I, II, and III archaeological surveys, evaluations, and mitigation projects.
• Use GPS, total station, data collectors, and GIS for field data acquisition.
• Prepare reports and assist in compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to navigate complex regulatory environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a closely related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in archaeology (internship or field school) preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with archaeological field methods and relevant technology.
