Brockington and Associates, Inc. in Atlanta, GA seeks an Archaeologist / Project Manager at entry to mid-level to lead field projects across the United States.

Based in our Atlanta office, you will manage fieldwork, reporting, and client communications while growing with the firm. Minimum MA/MHP/MS in archaeology, anthropology, history, or historic preservation with 2–4 years of project management experience.

Qualifications

• MA/MHP/MS level degree in archaeology, anthropology, history or historic preservation.
• 2–4 years of experience managing archaeological field projects.
• Ability to prepare and execute detailed research designs.
• Ability to conduct fieldwork including survey, testing and data recovery.
• Ability to lead projects across field, lab and reporting efforts as Principal Investigator.
• Ability to identify prehistoric and historic artifacts and features in the field.
• Strong communication skills for discussions with colleagues, clients and review agencies.
• Experience in budgeting and scheduling management; and
• strong technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day management of one or more projects from proposal through curation.
• Serve as primary contact for clients, agencies, public, media, subcontractors and staff.
• Set up and manage projects in Otis (Brockington’s PM software).
• Direct fieldwork, lab work and reporting to ensure timely deliverables.
• Identify artifacts and features; coordinate data transfer to labs or GIS personnel.
• Lead safety efforts by developing and communicating Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
• Ensure team and finances stay informed; supervise staff and project tasks.
• Engage with clients and agencies to discuss project findings and progress.
