Job summary

HDR is seeking a Staff Archaeologist for its Metairie, Louisiana office to conduct surveys, document sites, and contribute to technical reports. You will work on Phase II and III projects and supervise field technicians.

Candidates should have a bachelor's in Archaeology or Anthropology, strong writing and communication skills, and experience with cultural resource management, GIS, and MS Office. Occasional travel and remote site work may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a closely related field is required.
• Experience with cultural resource management and field study design is preferred.
• Strong writing and communication skills and ability to work with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct archaeological surveys and assist Phase II/III work.
• Supervise field technicians and coordinate team activities.
• Prepare site forms, photography, GPS mapping, and documentation.
• Assist with artifact analyses, processing and curation.
