Job summary

HDR, Inc. is hiring a Staff Archaeologist for our Metairie, LA office. The role focuses on archaeological surveys, Phase II/III activities, site documentation, and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams across the South Central region.

The position requires a Bachelor's in Archaeology/Anthropology or related field, GIS familiarity, strong writing/communication skills, and willingness to travel up to 80% and work varied hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Archaeology, Anthropology, Architectural History or related field.
• Experience with field study design and cultural resource management regulatory framework.
• Familiarity with GIS tools and documentations.
• Excellent writing and communication skills; self-starter.
• Willingness to work varied weather conditions and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct archaeological surveys, Phase II testing, and Phase III data recoveries; document sites and prepare reports.
• Supervise field technicians and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Assist with artifact analyses, processing, and curation.
• Support planning, staffing, and execution of cultural resource management projects.
