Job summary

NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the National Park Service (NPS) through the Experienced Services Program (ESP). The Archaeologist role in Florida supports cultural resources management, compliance with NHPA, and coordination with Native American Tribes.

The position requires field work in challenging outdoor environments, knowledge of federal standards, and proficiency with GIS and MS Office programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 15 year(s) of experience in Cultural Resources Management within a Federal land management agency.
• MA/MS Degree in Archaeology with minimum additional experience of 1 year(s)
• Meet or exceed SOI Professional Qualifications Standards for Archeology
• Experience with Windows and Microsoft Office applications and GIS tools

Responsibilities

• Conduct desktop reviews, field surveys, and resource assessments to identify and evaluate sites.
• Prepare NRHP determinations and professional reports; maintain GIS and digital records for decisions.
• Coordinate with Native American Tribes and State Historic Preservation Office; summarize technical information for leadership.
