Job summary

Transfyr is hiring a Field Applications Engineer to bridge cutting-edge AI technology with real-world laboratory environments in Cambridge, MA. You will deploy and support hardware, work closely with scientists, and help scale our platform for diverse experimental settings.

You will lead end-to-end field deployments, handle hardware installation, and contribute to robust test regimes. Travel nationwide up to 25% is expected as part of customer success and field growth.

Qualifications

• Experience deploying and supporting hardware in complex environments.
• Track record of translating customer needs into technical solutions.
• Familiarity with sensor integration, networking, and edge systems.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and edge-to-cloud data transfers.
• Interest in science and curiosity about scientific processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead hardware procurement and physical assembly for multi-sensor arrays and edge compute kits.
• Design and execute robustness tests to ensure reliable operation across laboratory conditions.
• Own end-to-end field deployment and site readiness at customer sites.
• Collaborate with scientists to design sensor placements and bespoke solutions.
• Translate field observations into requirements for Hardware, Software, Perception, and AI/ML teams.
• Triage and resolve first-line hardware/software issues in the field and surface quick-win insights.
