Job summary

Arrow Electronics is seeking a Field Applications Engineer with FPGA expertise to support regional sales teams and customers through pre- and post-sales technical guidance. You will translate design requirements into FPGA solutions, deliver product training, participate in supplier activities, and help grow demand across multiple markets while building strong relationships.

Some travel (around 25%) is expected.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of electronic design experience with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • Experience designing with FPGAs (HDL, Simulation, Verification).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; sales experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Arrow sales teams in local branches for pre- and post-sales technical support.
  • Provide escalation path to local FAEs for top opportunities in the region.
  • Understand customer design requirements at system and component levels.
  • Attend supplier trainings and demonstrate strengths/weaknesses of supplier technologies.
  • Train Arrow sales teams on new products and market them to customers.
  • Build relationships with customers and suppliers, keep stakeholders updated.
  • Manage opportunities and funnel in the assigned region.
  • Participate in branch meetings and quarterly business reviews.
  • Plan and organize engineering customer events and seminars.
  • Prepare and give sales presentations; meet customers on-site and remotely.
  • Work independently; assist colleagues with less experience.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Partner with the Arrow sales teams in local branches across your assigned region in pre-and post-sales activities. Provide technical support and consulting to promote demand creation.
  • Provide an escalation path to local Arrow FAEs for support of top opportunities in assigned region..
  • Work with customers to develop a thorough understanding of their design requirements at both a system and component level.
  • Attend supplier trainings in-person and via conference calls. Demonstrate an understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of supplier technologies and how those technologies relate to market needs.
  • Provide training to Arrow sales teams on new products and help market these products to the appropriate customers.
  • Manage supplier and customer expectations by building and developing relationships, keeping stakeholders up to date on activities, plans, and progress towards initiatives.
  • Manage top opportunities and opportunity funnel in assigned region.
  • Attend and actively participate in strategic branch meetings and quarterly business reviews.
  • Help plan and organize engineering customer events and seminars.
  • Prepare and give sales presentations to customers.
  • Meet with customers both on-site and virtually.
  • Works independently; receives minimal guidance.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
  • Quickly build influential relationships with customers, suppliers, and the Arrow sales team.
  • Represents the level at which career may stabilize for many years or even until retirement
  • This position will be supporting Arrow branches across assigned region. 25% travel may be required.
  • This job profile requires the assignment and participation in a sales compensation plan. A portion of On-Target Earnings will be variable and tied to specific sales-related goals as set forth by Arrow.
What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of electronic design experience with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
  • Must have experience designing with FPGA's (HDL, Simulation, Verification, etc…)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Sales experience is beneficial in this role.

Work Arrangement: Remote, candidates could be required to be in the office.

Annual Hiring Range/Hourly Rate

$84,300.00 - $147,500.00

Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level. The pay ratio between base pay and target incentive (if applicable) will be finalized at offer.

Remote work employees may be required to be present at the closest designated Arrow office for work-related purposes, at the Company’s request and sole discretion.
