Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. seeks a Reference Design Engineer to own the development and lifecycle of reference designs, applying embedded systems expertise to create new concepts and ensure technical accuracy before publication.

You will collaborate with engineering, marketing, product management and other teams to translate complex technical information into clear web content and maintain high-quality reference design assets. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• BS or BSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of design experience in microcontroller or microprocessor based embedded systems.
• Minimum of 5 years of design experience with 8- & 32-bit embedded C programming.
• Proficient with schematic capture and PCB layout tools such as Altium Designer and Siemens Xpedition.
• Excellent English writing and presentation of technical information.

Responsibilities

• Create, review or update schematics, PCB layouts, block diagrams and other technical documentation for reference design pages.
• Develop or adapt embedded software for MCU/MPU based reference designs.
• Develop, publish, and maintain web content for reference designs across market segments.
• Collaborate with engineering, marketing and product management to translate technical data into engaging web content.
• Ensure content accuracy, detail, and quality; manage multiple projects with deadlines.
