Job summary

IronRidge, Inc. is seeking a Field Applications Engineer based in the Northeast US. The role focuses on technical product application support, product demonstrations, joint calls with sales, and on-site training to expand market presence for solar mounting hardware.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of related experience or a bachelor’s degree, familiarity with Salesforce and Excel, and ability to work at heights. Competitive compensation with bonus/commissions and strong benefits are offered.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years related experience and/or a Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, procedures and regulations.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to lift and carry solar modules up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfort working at heights, including rooftop operations.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and MS Excel; adapt to various tools.
  • Solar layout, design, mounting, waterproofing, and racking experience.
  • Public speaking to small and large groups.
  • OSHA 10 Construction required; Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Plan territory technical sales visits, events, and trainings.
  • Generate training reports for customer and sales engagements.
  • Coordinate on-the-job training for new opportunities on the ground and rooftop.
  • Provide feedback on product and training content.
  • Leverage networks to generate product demand with solar manufacturers.
  • Develop curriculum for new products/services and educational material.
  • Maintain records and report changes in products, market trends, and code compliance.
  • Report on competitive landscape and market intelligence.
  • Design PV layouts in IR and other design software for Sales, Distributors, End Users.
  • Document application support questions and calls.
  • Provide feedback to Engineering and Product Teams.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned.

What You'll Do

The Field Applications Engineer is primarily responsible for cultivating business opportunities through various activities such as technical product application support, product demonstrations, joint calls with sales personnel, direct customer visits, and product training. The FAE diligently expands IronRidge's network of influence and leverages their expertise to continually promote the IronRidge value proposition.

  • Plan territory technical sales visits, events, and trainings
  • Generate training reports to ensure all customer and sales engagements are being accounted for and captured
  • Coordinate and provide on-the-job (OJT) training for new opportunities on the ground and rooftop
  • Provide customer feedback on improvements to products and/or training content.
  • Leverage professional network, coordinating training and with non-competing solar manufacturers in an effort to generate product demand.
  • Organize and assist in the development of curriculum for new products/services, including reference library, multimedia visual aids, and other educational material
  • Maintain records as needed and report on relevant changes in the weekly meeting to keep everyone appraised of changes in products, market trends, and code compliance.
  • Regularly report on competitive landscape of region and other market intelligence
  • Design PV layouts in IR and other PV design software to support Sales, Distributors, and End Users
  • Accurately documents application support questions and calls
  • Provides feedback to Engineering and Product Teams for product development
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring
  • Three to five years related experience and/or training or Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret: Professional journals, technical installation and engineering procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to lift and carry solar modules up to 50 lbs
  • Must be comfortable working at heights, including rooftop operations.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce (CRM systems), and MS Excel and able to learn and adapt to a variety of software tools.
  • Competency in solar layout, design, mounting, waterproofing, and racking for residential and light commercial installations.
  • Ability to speak in public to small and large groups.
  • OSHA 10 Construction required
  • Spanish a plus
Where You'll be Located

This position is based in the Northeast with a preference for candidates in Massachusetts, Connecticut, or Rhode Island.

What We'll Offer

We offer competitive compensation determined by each individual’s relevant experience, skills, education, and location. We anticipate the base salary for this position to be between $100,000-$112,000/annually, if located in the New England market. In addition to base salary, Enstall Solar Group employees are eligible for either an annual bonus or commission, depending on their position. If your desired salary falls outside of these rates, we hope you’ll still apply, as there may be other positions that better align.
