Job summary

GlobalFoundries seeks a Field Application Engineering Intern. You will provide technical support to GF customers, supporting technology evaluations that lead to design wins, design-ins, tapeout activities, and successful first-time-right outcomes.

Familiarize with GF technology offerings, collaborate with internal teams to align GF solutions with customer needs, and create customer-facing documentation that demonstrates how GF technology solves applications.

Qualifications

• Sophomore standing and pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 and in good academic standing.
• English language fluency (written & verbal).
• Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.

Responsibilities

Summary of Role:

Essential Responsibilities include:

• Familiarize with GF technology offerings and learn technology features and differentiation from GF experts.
• Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to match GF technology offerings with customer requirements.
• Assist customers with technical evaluation and tapeout execution in partnership with GF subject matter experts.
• Create customer-facing technical documentation demonstrating how GF technology solves application and market needs.

Other Responsibilities:

• Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Required Qualifications:

• Education - At least a sophomore at time of application and actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship. Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing.
• Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)
• Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior related internship or co-op experience
• Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
• Strong interest in leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support effective decision-making.
• Project management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong planning & organizational skills
• Course work in Circuit Design, Semiconductor Device Physics, or Materials Science
• Skills: Microsoft Office Suite, EDA tools, and Linux
