Job summary

NCAB Group USA is seeking a mid-level Field Application Engineer to support our USA Engineering team, located ideally Midwest to West. You will bridge PCBA design and manufacturing, guiding customers from concept to production.

You will work with sales, CAD tools like Genesis, CAM 350, and perform impedance and thermal modeling to optimize DfM/DFx. Travel across the USA may be required; AA degree in EE and 2–3 years related experience required.

Qualifications

  • AA degree in electrical engineering, preferably PCB design.
  • 2–3 years in PCB production, field applications engineering, or related roles.
  • Experience with PCB manufacturing processes is a plus.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical engineering support to the USA team across the country.
  • Collaborate with sales to align technical solutions with customer needs.
  • Evaluate PCB CAD/layout concepts and support NPI through production.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to optimize DfM, DfA, and DfT.

We are looking for a mid level Field Application Engineer to join our USA Engineering team to provide technical engineering support to our team members across the USA. Ideally, this person will be located mid West to West in the United States.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • You are self-starter able to work with minimal direct supervision.
  • Your ability to work with and become a partner with the sales team
  • Understanding of PCB CAD layout software and current layout techniques including microBGA, HDI design and LED/thermal design
  • Familiarity with Genesis, CAM 350, impedance modeling, SPICE and thermal modeling tools
  • The technical expertise required to take a PCB schematic through layout, NPI development process and into full production with the goal to optimize the design from the standpoint of DfM, DfA and DfT requirements.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams, promoting the project within the organization focused on team success
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • AA degree in electrical engineering, preferably in PCB design
  • We would like to see you bring 2-3 years experience in a similar position such as PCB production, field applications engineering, PCB pre-production engineering, PCB manufacturing R&D technician
  • Experience/knowledge in PCB manufacturing processes preferred
What You Bring to the Table:
  • Proven experience in applying your knowledge of PCB's from design to manufacturability.
  • Strong communication skills with your teams and factories to produce the best possible outcome on PCB manufacturing.
  • Exceptional communication — comfortable picking up the phone and engaging directly with customers.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with order entry/enterprise systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) industry is preferred.
  • Associate’s degree in business or related field required or equivalent experience.
